Kingdom Hearts 4 worlds spoiled in massive Steam achievements leak

Most, if not all, of the worlds in Kingdom Hearts 4 have been spoiled by a leaked Steam achievements list, according to Polygon. The list surfaced through Exophase, a website that tracks video game achievements, and SteamDB, a third-party database covering everything on Steam. Both appear to have received achievement lists for a host of unreleased Steam games, including Judas, Persona 6, and Metro 2039, but Kingdom Hearts 4 is the standout because Square Enix's Disney action RPG is not due out until late 2027.

The leak is heavy on spoilers for the worlds Sora and company will visit. Star Wars appears to be confirmed through the achievement "Desert Do-Gooder," which references a "Galaxy Far, Far Away." Haunted Mansion is directly named in another achievement. Toy Story's Toy Box world is set to return, and Zootopia is coming to the series for the first time, with Savanna Central mentioned. Land of the Dead, the world from Coco, also features, though that location was previously announced at D23.

Not every achievement in the leaked list carries a description, Polygon notes, but several give strong hints about what players will encounter. The game will return to Quadratum, the Tokyo-inspired world introduced in Kingdom Hearts 3 that players could access through Toy Box and that served as the setting for the fictional video game Verum Rex. A new world called Monochrome Origins appears in the achievement "Hotsy-Totsy Helper-Outer," and while it does not obviously link to existing Disney media, Reddit user Quiccies has pieced together that it is likely where players will find Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, since "hotsy-totsy" is his catchphrase in other Disney games.

Wall-E is likely to feature too, though not by name. The "It's Not Junk To Me" achievement asks players to "fill up the treasure collection of the custodian for a certain Quadratum rooftop," and Reddit user Kurai_46 pointed out that Wall-E is a custodian robot who collects old junk and treasures it. A world called the "Imagineer Planet" is also mentioned, though Polygon reports it does not tie to anything obvious from Disney, aside from Walt Disney Imagineering, the company's design and development arm.

The leak arrives amid a stretch of Kingdom Hearts news driven by leaks. Polygon notes a canceled Kingdom Hearts game leak recently sent fans into a frenzy, and an allegedly leaked trailer had fans speculating about how the canceled Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link ties into Kingdom Hearts 4. Square Enix has not commented publicly on the achievements leak, and the lists have not been confirmed as authentic.

What remains unknown is how much of the leaked content reflects the final game. Kingdom Hearts 4 is still roughly a year away from its late 2027 release window, and achievement lists can change during development. Fans who want to avoid spoilers for the game's world lineup may want to steer clear of the leaked lists until Square Enix makes an official announcement.

Why it matters

A leaked Steam achievements list appears to reveal most of Kingdom Hearts 4's world lineup, including Star Wars, Haunted Mansion, and Zootopia, more than a year before the game's release.
