Marvel Rivals Season 10 reveal: Gorr kills Loki, who vanishes from roster
NetEase Games revealed Marvel Rivals season 10 on Sept. 8, confirming Gorr the God Butcher as the season's sole new hero and explaining why Loki has vanished from the playable roster. The announcement trailer shows Gorr attacking Asgard and driving All-Black the Necrosword through Loki, seemingly killing the god of mischief. As of the reveal, Loki is marked as dead on the roster and cannot be selected for play, with his portrait replaced by a black background reading "missing" in Norse typography, though his lore and cosmetics remain accessible.
Gorr arrives as a duelist, the game's DPS class, on season 10's launch date of Sept. 11. All-Black morphs into different forms based on the battle situation, defeated enemies spawn phantom Black Berserkers to continue the attack, and Gorr can dash and teleport across the map. Season 10 also adds the God Quarry domination map and the Jeff's Dream Eater cosmetic event.
Gorr was introduced as a background villain in season 9, where he had already slaughtered deities including Apocalypse and Khonshu. NetEase said Gorr will be the only hero added in season 10, with the season's second half focused on the Path to Doomsday event's phases three and four.
The roster change ties Marvel Rivals' live narrative directly to playable character availability, and it sets up a story question about how Loki will return after Gorr's season 10 launch.
