White House pulls Tetris-style 'Build the Wall' game after Tetris Company warning

The White House removed Build the Wall, a Tetris-style browser game, from its Arcade.Gov page after The Tetris Company said it takes copyright infringement seriously. The game, which had players stack bricks at the "Southern Border" to repel incoming zombies, now returns a 404 error, Rock Paper Shotgun reported. The Tetris Company posted a statement on X and Instagram on September 4 saying it was not involved in the game's creation and that it "take[s] copyright infringement very seriously." The company also said it believes in "bringing people together, not dividing them." The White House launched the Arcade section last week with several low-budget games promoting Trump administration policies, including Flappy Bill, a Flappy Bird clone, and Rio Run, a Snake clone that tallies a "deported" count. The removal follows earlier criticism: Dutch artist Wouter Sieuwerts released Build that Bridge, a free browser game inverting the mechanics to grow a bridge instead of a wall. The White House's other parody games, including Flappy Bill, remain live as of writing.
